Do you stay raw on the holidays? There’s no reason to make an excuse to indulge because we have built a holiday around indulging in pleasure junk foods all in the festive time of having fun! Well you definitely don’t want to be a grinch and not have a good time on christmas, however you could still have a great time and take care of your body by staying on track, and eating raw even though your surrounded by many people that may not even eat one thing raw. Can it be difficult because you feel out of place, only eating raw food around people that are feasting on cookies, pies, and all kinds of animal foods? It’s only difficult because you say it’s difficult. Don’t allow peer pressure, and fitting in, even be something you struggle with when your eating high vibrational living foods that should be making you confident and clear-minded, to be a light, not to project and to judge, but to rather show what it feels like to be healthy and to eat living foods like every animal and nature does. Who cares about unconscious judgement towards you, when your smiling and feeling happy and light and not bogged down by junk food. Real rational people will see your self-control, your light shine, and how happy and light you feel, and may be inspired, to make eating healthy a goal for this next year.
We don’t have to lower ourselves to a certain level in order to fit in. There’s no reason to feel insecure, when you feel secure about your life choice to even change your diet drastically from eating cooked food your whole life to a raw living foods diet. It’s so often that we find excuses to cheat, and then we fall off track and we no longer pursue this as a lifestyle. So many people fall off, because they set this trap up in their mind, they build up the anxiety of feeling out of place during holidays, birthdays, events, or what have you. You could at least make a gourmet raw food dish, not only you would enjoy, but everyone would enjoy, and just keep the raw living foods alive, during these times of gatherings of giving, and enjoying each other’s company celebrating christmas.
Another trap you may run into during christmas time is being around a lot of cooked food, and pleasure traps that you’re not used to being around, during your regular lifestyle of eating everyday. There will be a lot of people that will want to offer you certain dishes that you know that you don’t normally eat. You need to take responsibility, and just be polite about rejecting these offers, and just tell the person offering it to you that your very thankful, but you choose not to eat certain foods because your health is a priority. If somebody gets offended by you taking responsibility for your health, then as difficult as it is that’s on them and not on you. As awkward as somebody makes something, you could always still just be a light, loving and kind in return. Nothing is perfect in life anyways, just because your gathering with friends and family on christmas that would love to give you a cookie doesn’t mean that this wouldn’t take place anywhere else on any other day. Do yourself a favor and don’t make an excuse to indulge, because 20 minutes of pleasure is never worth equaling 3 days of pain. Yes 3 days of pain could be a reality for those that have been on a living food diet for a while especially a diet of high fruit that is a very easily digestible type of food.
It may be difficult for those of you that are raw vegans, watching people indulgent partaking and eating the suffering of an innocent being such as an animal, while their pets run around freely dressed up like santa claus and reindeers, and also indulging on special treats and even opening up presents, the hypocrisy will be a full fledge reality on this day. This is just an example of something that may stir up some frustration inside you, but hold on to your judgment on this day, and just focus on the positive things, be a light, show love, and your appreciation, and try to win people over that way rather than being the grinch that acts more superior because your on a high vibrational diet, that does no harm to animals or the planet. In my opinion today is not a day to project and primarily win somebody over, but to focus on being an example, and encouraging people that they could pursue this as a lifestyle of eating living foods, if you can.
Cooked food will be a temptation, even if your on a raw living foods diet. It’s more than likely that you have been eating cooked food much longer than you have been raw. The smell of cooked food is enjoyable, but 20 minutes of pleasure is never worth 3 days of pain. If your going to compromise with your diet, because temptations are very difficult for you, I highly suggest you prepare yourself a gourmet raw food dinner, and even dessert, and compromise that way rather than giving in to cook food cravings that will be much more detrimental to your health than one day of eating gourmet raw. Your body will be more used to the more dense raw foods, more than it would be tolerated by cooked food, and especially the cook food that people like to prepare on days like this. Just understand that you could pull through this, overcome these temptations, overcome the anxiety of feeling out of place, and just bring your raw food dish, don’t attract attention to yourself, and be a light, and encouragement and allow people to ask rather than to project.
Have a good christmas everyone, enjoy your gifts and your time spent with your loved ones, reminiscing in memory, love your family and enjoy that smile of giving that gift, putting a smile on that loved ones face, and just understand that you don’t have to change who you are, and change a positive habit to fit in to please people around you. Your body is more important then compromising in an environment of unawareness. Bring the awareness through light and love, and don’t project, or judge, it’s just not worth setting that bad example, especially if you desire to encourage and Inspire change.
